The University of Memphis’ Fogelman College of Business and Economics Deploys inSORS Collaboration Solution
April 16, 2005
(Memphis) The University of Memphis’ Fogelman College of Business and Economics (FCBE), the leading business school in the Mid-South, has chosen the inSORS Grid as its enterprise collaboration platform. Distributed among hundreds of Fogelman students, faculty, and staff, the Grid clients will enable scheduled or ad hoc learning sessions, collaborative research, and collaborative project work, via student and staff laptops, and via UMemphis’ wireless LAN.
Commenting on the inSORS deployment, Fogelman College Dean John Pepin stated, “We were looking for a tool that enabled rich student-faculty collaboration, while removing the barriers of dedicated, fixed equipment and dedicated staff resources. InSORS opened our eyes to the new generation of media-rich, anytime, anywhere collaboration.” The original deployment is for an inSORS Grid server and 50 concurret software licenses. The deployment is a true distributed collaboration application in a high-end business school setting. The goal is to prepare students for future positions where collaborations with remote colleagues will not be hindered by time or distance.
