UK Deployments Expand to include UKERNA and JANET – UK’s Research and Education Network
inSORS Unified Collaboration Server to drive IG usage

(Oxon, UK) UKERNA, which runs the United Kingdom’s Research network JANET, announces that it will deploy an inSORS Unified Collaboration Server (UCS) to increase the collaboration opportunities for the educational institutions connected to its network. The UCS will serve the fifty-plus inSORS Grid nodes currently deployed throughout the UK’s e-Science’s program. JANET is a private, government-funded network for education and research. All further and higher education organizations are connected to JANET, as are all the Research Councils. UKERNA offers the full range of user services over JANET including e-mail, news feeds and videoconferencing , with supporting network services.
