The University of East Anglia deploys inSORS Solution
UK deployments continue for inSORS
December 8, 2004
( Norwich Norfolk, UK) The University of East Anglia has deployed an inSORS Grid solution to participate in the National e-Science Project and the many distributed programs being offered under the UK-wide initiative. The East Anglia node will be supported by the Cambridge e-Science Center. The main objectives of the Center are to support e-Science projects involving scientists and industry in the Cambridge region and to enable new scientific advances by using Grid-enabled applications to tackle terascale problems. Another objective is to develop new generic Grid-based tools for massive data handling, high-performance computing and visualization applications on wide area networks. The multi-point video, audio and data sharing features of the inSORS Grid solution will provide for immersive collaboration between distributed scientists and researchers throughout the many e-Science Project locations.
inSORS, based in Chicago with offices in Houston, Los Angeles, Washington DC, New York, London, and Tokyo, develops, markets, and supports unified collaboration software and solutions that enable multiple groups and individuals to collaborate with high-quality audio, video, and data over existing network infrastructure.
The inSORS Grid and inSORS Access Grid solutions provide innovative state-of-the-art conferencing and collaboration tools that integrate a wide range of communications systems into a simple, easy-to-use platform. inSORS solutions include venue and client software, documentation and support, and comprehensive services including installation, network and collaboration consulting, and training.
