inSORS Deploys IG solutions at Texas A&M University’s
Trans-Texas Videoconferencing Network
June 30, 2004
HOUSTON, TX – inSORS Integrated Communications, Inc., developer of collaboration software specializing in multi-group video, audio, and data communications, recently implemented four inSORS Access Grid conferencing solutions at Texas A&M University facilities operated by the Trans-Texas Videoconferencing Network (TTVN.)
TTVN operates network infrastructure and related support services enabling 2-way and multipoint videoconferencing and data collaboration at over 120 colleges, universities, and independent school districts across the state of Texas. TTVN will utilize the inSORS Access Grid systems in two research and distance learning facilities and in the TTVN Operations Center in College Station, and the fourth system will connect the Texas A&M campus in Doha, Qatar, with College Station and the rest of the Access Grid community using a complete four-camera inSORS room system.
TTVN installed the inSORS Access Grid systems with the goal of enabling potential Access Grid users at the university with easy-to-use solutions. Within one week of the first install, TTVN staff were surprised at the number of users seeking a portal to the Access Grid research community. In addition to meeting demand for Access Grid tools, TTVN is able to take advantage of other inSORS tools, including H.323 videoconferencing interoperability that can connect and improve their existing videoconferencing tools.
