CHICAGO, IL
--- inSORS Integrated Communications, Inc., a Chicago-based
communications firm specializing in high-end distributed
computing technologies, has implemented its inSORS Grid
conferencing and collaboration solution at Oak Ridge National
Laboratory in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
The inSORS Grid, which utilizes multicast networks to join
voice, video, and data into an integrated communications
solution that is scaleable to over 100 locations, is an
innovative blending of technologies that was born from the
Access Grid and its related projects.
At Oak Ridge
National Laboratory, inSORS has installed a four-server
version of an inSORS Grid node that will be used for general
meetings as well as daily discussions between ORNL and the
U.S. Department of Energy's Washington, D.C. headquarters.
ORNL personnel
are enthusiastic about their new ability to collaborate
with other national laboratories and diverse experts from
around the globe, and they are looking forward to increasing
the overall usage of Access Grid technologies. They were
also very pleased with inSORS' management of the project.
inSORS completely
installed, tested, and had the node running in one day.
This accomplishment was one that garnered appreciation from
the ORNL staff as well as one that greatly impressed the
Access Grid community.
inSORS' Art Ziarko, who headed the ORNL project, noted that
he received several comments from other Access Grid community
members concerning the excellent performance of the ORNL
node.
Concerning this recent deployment, inSORS' Director of Business
Development Brian Gleason stated that the company is enthusiastic.
"Through this and other inSORS Grid deployments,"
Mr. Gleason said, "inSORS continues to show its support
of the Access Grid technology and Access Grid community.
inSORS is committed to working in tandem with this institution
to further the development and promise of the Access Grid
and its related technologies."
