UK Deployments Expand – NeSC at the University of Edinburgh Chooses the IG
High profile National e-Science Center to showcase inSORS Grid

( Edinburgh, Scotland) The National e-Science Center at the University of Edinburgh has deployed the inSORS Grid solution in their high profile co- lab or collaborative laboratory. The Center’s Director, Malcolm Atkinson states “The NeSC at Edinburgh had 20,000 visitors last year. The inSORS Grid will be a highlight for the many colleagues and industry representatives that come to get a glimpse of our next generation technology.” The room based IG node is one of many currently deployed throughout the UK’s e-Science community.
The Edinburgh National e-Science Centre, which is a part of the UK's e-Science Core Technology program, runs a research and development program involving academia and industry and will use the inSORS Grid node as both a management and research tool. The Centre's wider objectives include promoting awareness of Grid and e-Science technologies and acting as a local source of advice and training in Grid and e-Science technologies.
