CHICAGO, IL --- inSORS Integrated
Communications, Inc., a Chicago-based communications solutions
provider offering enterprise-scale video, audio, and data products
and services, has implemented its inSORS Grid conferencing and
collaboration solution for the BRIN site at the University of
Montana.
The Montana Network for Biomedical Research Opportunities offers
faculty, undergraduate and graduate students throughout Montana
enhanced research opportunities in the biomedical sciences. The
Montana Network and inSORS Grid will focus on enhancing undergraduate
research opportunities for students at all participating campuses,
creating opportunities for faculty to collaborate with colleagues
at other institutions, improving equipment available for student
and faculty research, improving state-wide collaboration capability
and offering workshops and courses on bioinformatics, biotechnology,
and competition for research grants.
The inSORS Grid will fit well into the BRIN mission. Further,
this node will provide an important link within the research community
and the growing worldwide Access Grid community.
The inSORS Grid (IG) is inSORS' interactive, multimedia conferencing
and collaboration system. The IG is an IP- and multicast- based
product that joins video, audio, and data streams in real time
for the purposes of communicating, training, educating, and marketing
from within high-end virtual video conferencing rooms that accommodate
100s of participants from over 30 locations.
