From Presentation to Demonstration: inSORS Connects at Internet2 Fall Members Meeting
September 30, 2004
CHICAGO, IL – inSORS Integrated Communications, Inc., provider of an innovative software-based visual collaboration solutions, enjoyed great success at the recent Internet2 Fall Members Meeting held in Austin, TX September 27-30.
By bringing together the leaders in advanced networking, Internet2’s annual Fall Member Meeting represented collaboration among academia, industry and government at it’s finest. With close to 700 attendees representing more than 300 universities, corporations, partners and government entities, Internet2’s 2004 meeting was the largest in the organization’s history.
inSORS, a corporate sponsor of Internet2, had the opportunity to speak in a session, present a poster session, as well as participate in the Internet2 Commons videoconferencing demonstration area.
John Harrison of inSORS was able to simultaneously connect an inSORS Grid client to the other videoconferencing systems in the demonstration area, including Polycom, Tandberg, First Virtual, Radvision, VCON and Wave3. "We have successfully connected to many h323 devices using our software, but this was the first time we attempted to demonstrate the power of our application by collaborating with every system available in the demonstration area," noted Harrison. He added, "inSORS boasts seamless connectivity to other videoconferencing systems, and this was an excellent arena to display this capability."
Jim Miller, President of Research and Education Sector, was a speaker at a 4 person panel on ad-hoc collaboration.
