CHICAGO, IL --- inSORS Integrated Communications, Inc., a communication solutions provider specializing in real time audio, video, and data collaboration, has joined the Internet2 consortium, an organization of over 190 universities working in partnership with industry and government to develop and deploy advanced network applications and technologies.

As a new member of the Internet2 community, inSORS is enthusiastic about the contributions it hopes to make. "As one of over 60 leading companies participating in the Internet2 program, we know that we've got our work cut out for us with regard to establishing ourselves as a legitimate contributor," stated inSORS' Director of Enhanced Applications Jim Miller. "We are confident, though," Mr. Miller continued, "that the inSORS Grid will make a positive and lasting effect on the community as an application in line with the goals of Internet2."

Founded in 1998 by visionary leaders in the communications industry, inSORS' extensive research efforts in the converged network applications arena have resulted in the inSORS Grid (IG), a cutting-edge interactive, multimedia conferencing and collaboration product immersed in the practice of distributed computing and telepresence technologies. The Chicago-based company focuses on the design, implementation, and management of these technologies and related leading-edge communications solutions.

Internet2, an organization built to foster partnerships among academia, industry and government entities for the purpose of accelerating the advancement of the Internet and its capabilities, holds as a key goal the diffusion of Internet technologies into the commercial sector. Other aims of the organization include creating a leading-edge network for the national research community, enabling revolutionary Internet applications, and ensuring the rapid transfer of new network services and applications to the broader Internet community.

"We are excited about our association with Internet2," said inSORS' CEO and President Michael Galich. "We know that inSORS will be an active and productive participant, and believe that we will contribute greatly to the achievement of both its short- and long- term goals."
