Halliburton Digital Consulting Services Installs inSORS Grid in Real Time Decision Center

Houston – inSORS Integrated Communications, a Chicago-based multimedia collaboration software developer, recently installed a powerful inSORS Grid IG2 collaboration network in Halliburton Digital Consulting and Solutions’ Real Time Decision Center (RTDC), a working demonstration facility showcasing technologies that enable more effective decisions in oil exploration and production. 

inSORS IG2 is a state-of-the-art software-based system that supports a highly scalable, geographically distributed collaboration environment.  IG2 utilizes globally distributed inSORS Unified Collaboration Grid servers optimize that any IP connection for client endpoints while managing long-haul connections between regions.   IG2 Node (client endpoint) software supports any Windows or Macintosh computer with form factors ranging from handhelds to large conference rooms, command centers, and auditoriums. 

The RTDC combines an innovative work process with the right technology in a specialized workspace to deliver optimized exploration, drilling, and asset management collaboration.  The facility includes a Real Time Operations Room with high-end workstations supporting multiple remote resources, a Collaboration Room with a Cyviz passive 3D display system, a Digital Office demonstrating a technology-enabled personal work space, and a large Decision Room capable of viewing facility resources through SGI’s Media Fusion software.  inSORS IG2 connects the RTDC rooms and workstations with remote sites,

providing multiple camera views from each room, high-resolution desktop video capture, and distributed collaboration tools.
