CHICAGO --- inSORS Integrated Communications, Inc. has today announced
that Dr. Ian Foster has joined the inSORS Advisory Board.
Dr. Foster, who is the co-author
of "The Grid: Blueprint for a New Computing Infrastructure,"
is an internationally recognized researcher and leader in the
area of Grid computing.
As a member of the Advisory
Board, Dr. Foster adds a new dimension to an already dynamic
group of people who lend business expertise and technological
vision to inSORS.
"The addition of Ian to our
board dramatically strengthens not only our standing in the Grid
community, but also our growth focus. Ian is as business minded
as he is technologically savvy and is certain to be a great asset
to inSORS," noted inSORS' CEO Michael Galich.
For his part, Dr. Foster is eager
to be a part of the commercial side of grid computing, a collection
of distributed computing technologies that he helped define and
develop. "In inSORS I see practical, commercial applications
of what we have worked on for years in academic and laboratory
settings. inSORS is completing the cycle, so to speak, by fulfilling
the many-to-many communications aspect of our project."
Dr. Foster is currently the Associate
Division Director and Senior Scientist at the Distributed Systems
Lab at Argonne National Laboratory as well as a professor of computer
science at the University of Chicago.
