(Ann Arbor, MI) inSORS Communications, an Internet2 Corporate Sponsor, is proud to announce its participation in the Internet2 Commons Collaboranza event being held May 8th- 12th. The Collaboranza event is being held to showcase the multitude of leading conferencing tools available via the Commons web page. The inSORS Grid 2 or “IG2” is a software based multi-point video, audio, and data sharing system. inSORS intends to use the event to highlight the IG2’s scalability and grid-like architecture. The IG2 is the only system currently available that seamlessly scales from the desktop to full room based endpoints. The IG2 uses a grid-enabled server architecture that also encourages usage on low bandwidth sites as well as fiber optic connected sites. See below for further information on both inSORS and the Collaboranza event.
Collaboranza! May 8-12, 2006
The Internet2 Commons promotes and facilitates remote collaboration between rooms, laboratories and campuses. Partnering with the development community, the Internet2 Commons offers tool suites that integrate presence, instant messaging, chat, voice, video, data and application sharing. Now, the Internet2 Commons is sponsoring Collaboranza!--a special one-week opportunity for the Internet2 community to explore a handful of the leading collaboration tool-suites. Participants will have the chance to try out each product for free with other educators and researchers from May 8-12, 2006. A concurrent H.323 videoconference will run from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. EDT through the duration of the event, in order for participants to test which of the products are truly capable of inter-operating through an H.323 bridge. Lessons learned and evaluations will be gathered to help potential adopters with their decision-making, and to help developers improve their products.
