CISM Completes Transition to an all IG2 Solution
Five Additional Sites Added

March 27, 2006

(Boston, MA) The Center for Space Weather Modeling (CISM), a distributed research project headed by Boston University has added five more IG2 sites to enhance its collaborative processes.  Boston University, Dartmouth College, Rice University, Alabama A & M and Florida Institute of Technology will join SAIC, Stanford University and University of California at Berkeley who already use the IG2 software.

aThe distributed teams will use the software based system to enhance their research and collaborative efforts.  The CISM team will also use the IG2 for management and operational meetings as well.

About CISM:

CISM, the Center for Integrated Space Weather Modeling, is a National Science Foundation (NSF) Science and Technology Center (STC). CISM formally began operations in August 2002.  The vision of CISM is to understand the dynamic sun0earth system and how it affects life and society.  The goal of the project is to create a physics-based numerical simulation model that describes the space environment form the Sun to the Earth
