Pasadena, CA ---
inSORS Integrated Communications, Inc., a Chicago-based communications
firm specializing in multipoint collaboration software technologies,
and the Center for Advanced Computing Research (CACR) at the California
Institute of Technology have engaged in a joint effort to demonstrate
the technological advancement and broad range of uses of the inSORS
Grid software and supporting hardware products.
The inSORS Grid (IG)
platformdesigned to allow multiple locations to interact
as one large groupcombines advanced distributed-computing
technologies with inSORS' Virtual Venue software to connect geographically
dispersed groups of people within virtual room environments. These
dynamic and scalable environments accommodate simultaneous interaction
among disparate locations, creating the effect of all participants
being together in a single location.
inSORS' CEO and President
Michael Galich expressed with vivacity his enthusiasm for the
project. "CACR is the ultimate testing ground for the IG.
With its world class people, its professional grade facilities,
and our software, I am looking forward to watching as the IG meets
and exceeds the collaborative needs of the brightest researchers
in the fields of performance computing and high-speed network
technologies," Mr. Galich said.
CACR provides leading-edge
capabilities for computational science and engineering research,
and experiments with new technologies that help define the technical
computing environment of the future. CACR will use the inSORS
Grid facility for both internal and external activities.
The Pasadena facility
will be fully operational in mid-March. To schedule a demonstration,
