West London Cancer Network Chooses IOCOM Solution

IOCOM partners with Impact Marcom to win tender

June 26, 2007 // London, UK – IOCOM announces another successful win in the distributed medical team vertical by partnering with UK based reseller Impact Marcom to win the West London Cancer Network’s video-teleconferencing deployment. The West London Cancer Network (WLCN) is formed of 11 regional hospitals. As part of its ongoing drive for service improvement it is keen to bring together the Multi Disciplinary Teams (MDT’s) from each of those hospitals. Taking very busy professionals away from their workplace though is clearly not a good option and so the WLCN has sought to develop its “video-teleconferencing” capability with the intention of linking these teams virtually.

A major tender exercise was conducted with some key areas highlighted as being vitally important for the MDT’s. The WLCN want to be able to show across the network:

In winning the tender Impact Marcom (an IOCOM affiliate partner) was able to demonstrate to the WLCN how all these features could be included in an eleven site conference, utilizing the NHS’s recently commissioned N3 network. The WLCN can now look forward to truly multi-point meetings involving both their MDT rooms and single participants from their desks and homes, the ability to analyze numerous medical data on screen at the same time and possibly, as well, no ongoing operational cost for their conferences.
