March 7, 2008 // Louisville – Speaking at a convention of Kentucky teachers, Calloway County Middle School teacher Brad Darnall shared his experience using IOCOM video collaboration as an innovative learning aid in his classroom.
With tight budgets and even tighter schedules, bringing in professionals and experts from outside a school's immediate area can be prohibitive. But using IOCOM software, Darnall has shown that such limitations can be overcome.
Darnall's seventh-grade students were able to speak "face-to-face" with a senator, leading university professors, other students around the country and attend seminars directly from their classsroom. The use of IOCOM afforded the students these unique opportunities by overcoming the problems of distance, busy schedules, and cost inherent in gaining access to such prominent speakers.
Darnall spoke about his experience using IOCOM at the Kentucky Teacher and Learning Conference, a convention showcasing excellence from schools and districts across the Commonwealth. IOCOM EVP of Sales, Jim Miller, attended the KTLC to introduce other teachers to the limitless educational possibilities of using IOCOM in the classroom.
