IOCOM Enables Collaboration Throughout the UK Mental Health Research Network

Remote doctors and researchers collaborate in real-time

August 22, 2007 // London, UK – IOCOM, a Chicago based software company announces another large deployment amongst United Kingdom based mental health researchers. The UK’s Mental Health Research Network (MHRN) will deploy several room based IG2 nodes to encourage collaboration between the several mental health “hubs” located throughout the country. The life blood of the MHRN is collaboration, and this begins in the research hubs. Each hub is a rich collaboration of academic and clinical organizations and user networks, bringing together a wide range of skills and expertise in mental health research and service provision in order to support MHRN adopted research. UK based IOCOM reseller Impact Marcom will do the integration and deployment work.

About the MHRN:
The UK Mental Health Research Network (MHRN) is funded by the Department of Health, and has been established to provide the NHS infrastructure to support both non-commercial and commercial large scale research in mental health, including clinical trials. It is one of the topic specific networks under the umbrella of the UK Clinical Research Network (UKCRN) and is managed by a partnership between the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College London and the University of Manchester. The UK MHRN supports high quality research that will remain useful over time, connect research to practice and ultimately improve the quality of treatment and care for people using mental health services.
