Illinois State University Conducts Pilot Distance Course with Plans for Summer Offering

February 1, 2007 // Bloomington, IL - Dr. Tibor Gyires, a professor at Illinois State University, is conducting his usual course for the Spring Semester 2007. However, he is doing things a bit differently this time.Utilizing the IOCOM Grid software, Dr. Gyires is testing the feasability of delivering his course to remote students rather than have them all attending in person.

Dr. Gyires has integrated IOCOM software in his networking courses for several semesters, but this is his first attempt at using the IOCOM software for lectures.Dr.Gyires also plans to utilize the IOCOM Recorder feature to record his lectures so students can review throughout the semester.

A more detailed report including analysis of student evaluations will be forthcoming in the next few weeks after interviews are conducted.
